The waters of the Colorado river carve out a horseshoe shaped path in Glen Canyon National Recreation Area. Horseshoe Bend near Page Arizona is an example of the power of water against the soft sandstone of the american southwest. After a short hike to the overlook, I was taken aback by the size of this land feature. The overlook to the river is approximately one thousand feet, just enough to make me a little nervous getting close to the edge to apture this image.
